Stamps Issues of The Koreas
The Koreas are a divided country with the Peoples Democratic Republic to the north and South Korea to the south. The first stamps of Korea were issued in 1884. After Korea was annexed by Japan in 1910, the Japanese government took over postal services and brought Japanese stamps for use in Korea. Korean stamps began again with liberation from Japan in 1946. With the separation of Korea into North and South, each maintain their postal services to this day.
